FAQS

Do you have questions about what it is like to work together?

Here are some of the most common questions we get from clients regarding therapy. If you do not see your question answered below, please contact us.

  • We are located in downtown Columbus, Ohio at 230 East Town Street, Suite 210. We are on the second floor of our building.

  • Our therapists use HIPAA-compliant video platforms to protect your confidentiality during Telehealth sessions. Prior to your scheduled session, your therapist will send you instructions and a link for easy access to your Telehealth session. At your scheduled session time, click the provided link. That will take you to your therapist's virtual waiting room and they will begin your session.

  • During your intake session, your therapist will gain a better undererstanding of your past experiences, current struggles, and goals in therapy. We understand the discomfort that can arise during an initial therapy session. Our therapists are here to remind you that this time is yours and, as a result, will follow your lead.

  • Prior to the intake session, all new clients are required to complete the intake paperwork. You will receive an invite via email to our client portal where you can access and complete the required paperwork. If you do not have access to a computer or phone, we have paper copies of the intake paperwork available in the lobby. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your intake session if you need to complete the paperwork in office.

  • The No Surprises Act is a federal law that was passed in December 2021 with an effective date of January 1, 2022. The intention of this act is to prevent clients from receiving unexpected medical bills for services previously provided. The No Surprises Act requires providers to send a Good Faith Estimate to all self-pay clients regarding their projected cost for services.

All clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day prior to your scheduled service. It is your right as a client to request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service with any healthcare provider.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 higher than your Good Faith Estimate, then you have the right to dispute the bill in question. For more information regarding your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.

The No Surprises Act does not change any operations at Rooted & Restored Counseling, LLC. Fees will continue to be listed on the website, communicated prior to scheduling an appointment, and included in the informed consent form that is required to be signed prior to an intake session.
