Macie Hobbs

Licensed independent social worker (she/her)

My philosophy for therapy is “you only get out of it what you put into it” so if you are open to talking through life stressors while utilizing helpful skills and tools, I am the therapist for you!

As a therapist, I want to empower my clients to be the best version of themselves, while also showing love and compassion for their flaws, because hey, we're all human! I enjoy being a therapist because life is a rollercoaster and we have to learn to ride the ups and downs of life and it is okay to have someone there to help you along the ride.

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) through the State of Ohio. I graduated from Wright State University with my Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2018 and my Master's in Social Work in 2020. I have been working as an individual counseling therapist, whether it be in internships or past jobs, since 2019. I have worked with a wide range of adult ages, starting at 18 to 75. I have worked with an array of life challenges such as life transitions and changes (starting/ending college, gender affirming changes, career moves, grief, new relationships, etc.), as well as positively managing mental health struggles that our day to day lives can bring.

Training & Education

My treatment approach utilizes Person-centered, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, and Strength Based modalities. I enjoy working with young adults (or older) dealing with life challenges including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, LGBTQIA+ and gender issues, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, current or past trauma, grief, self-compassion, and being an overall great advocate for yourself whether that be in your work, home, or in relationships. I like to use creative tools to help aide the treatment process, such as art, music, writing, and eccentric outlets. Together we can make your therapeutic experience one of a kind.
